Bounced Checks, 1981

A UK release that first tried to compile Waits' tenure at Asylum Records, there are some cool rarities here, including alternate masters of "Jersey Girl" and "Whistlin' Past the Graveyard," a live performance of "The Piano Has Been Drinking," and "Mr. Henry," an unreleased track from the Heartattack and Vine sessions. See Used Songs for a more complete picture of Waits’ early period, although Bounced Checks has a handmade, personal feel to it that makes it worth seeking out.
